Jasmine Star | Austin Angels

Austin Angels supports children and families in foster care. Susan Ramirez founded the organization in 2010 in Central Texas. Community Impact later wrote that the work started when Ramirez brought boxes of essentials to a foster mom named Esther, and that Esther named those deliveries Love Boxes.

Jasmine Star is a Newport Beach photographer and entrepreneur, founder of Social Curator, and a member of the National Angels advisory council. Austin Angels lists her on that council. This film was made with Jasmine Star for the Austin chapter.

On camera the cut holds a Christmas tree dressed in red and white: a bow at the top, Santa Stop Here among the ornaments, and warm lights in the branches. Wishlist cards from the program sit in a later still. Interviews hold faces in a quiet room. Civic teams hire a film like this when donors need to see the holiday ask and the people around it.

Who Hired The Camera

Nonprofit directors book a community film when a gala deck will not carry a tree, a card, and a voice in the same piece. Austin Angels asked for a cut they could show around the giving season.

The brief was the program as families meet it: wishes written down, a decorated room, and conversation on camera. The stills are frames from that file.
