EA Holiday | Event Film

Electronic Arts hosted a holiday party in 2018. This event film is the internal celebration as a guest would have walked it: ceiling first, then the floor, then the people under the drapes.

EA is the game publisher behind FIFA, Madden, The Sims, and Battlefield. Company teams book a holiday recap when the night has to live past the last toast, for an all-hands reel or a thank-you they can send in January.

The cut looks up at hanging parasols and jewel-tone fabric. One opening hold is an embroidered parasol hung upside down: green, red, and gold patchwork, small mirrors, a dark tassel at the tip. Swags of red, orange, deep blue, and purple fabric tent the ceiling. Purple wash hits the columns. Green and warm orange sit on the other side of the hall.

Who Hired The Camera

Companies hire us for holiday and all-hands films in Austin when the room is the story. A decorated hall reads as a built night. The camera has to hold the ceiling long enough that a later viewer can feel the install.

The brief here was EA's 2018 party: fabric, color, and guests moving through that light. The film stays with the celebration. It does not turn the cut into a game trailer.
