Summit Film
Talent Brand Alliance, The First Talent Brand Summit. Lost Pines, June 2018.
Film by Adam Grumbo
Talent Brand Alliance hosted the first Talent Brand Summit on June 13 and 14, 2018, at Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop, east of Austin. Co-founders Bryan Chaney and Will Staney built the two-day gathering for employer-brand and recruitment-marketing practitioners. Their own FAQ called it an intimate, immersive event with no vendor booths and no speaker track.
Holland McCue's recap for the Alliance put about 75 people in the rooms. Registration was capped at 75, including staff and facilitators. The published agenda ran roundtables, not keynotes: employee advocacy with Jennifer Newbill of Dell, building a team with James Marable of Macy's, personal growth with Audra Knight of Tenable, content strategy with Charlotte Marshall of Magellan Health, measurement with Tiffany Lee of HomeAway, and channel strategy with Dina Medeiros of Blizzard Entertainment.
This program film is a shorter cut from that gathering. On camera a guest wears a light blue lanyard with Brand Alliance type, chin on a fist, listening in a soft-lit room. Other holds stay with conversation on the floor and the rooms as the program ran.
Who Hired The Camera
HR and brand teams hire an Austin summit film when the recap has to feel like the peers in the room. Talent Brand Alliance asked for a working-campus cut: badges, conversation, and the program as it moved.
Chaney and Staney wrote that they wanted a practitioner tribe, a different brief from an HR expo. The FAQ said facilitators would guide group talk and that record keepers would capture notes for attendees. Outdoor blocks on the published agenda included hatchet throwing, archery, a barbecue dinner, and fireside chats.

What The Day Was For
Employer branding was still a young desk in 2018. The Alliance's pitch was simple: sit people who own the work in the same room and let them build the playbook together. Guests were told to dress for June in Central Texas and for time outside.
Lost Pines sits on the Colorado River in Bastrop County. The Alliance listed the resort as the Austin-area house for that first summit. The film stays with the indoor program: lanyards, seated holds, and the floor between sessions.
What The Film Delivers
A short summit cut has to travel after the last roundtable. Planners use it for the recap and for the next invitation. The stills are frames from that 2018 file.
